The ICC Cricket World Cup is One Day Cricket
International (ODI) which is formed on the international level. The
International Cricket Council (ICC) is the leading body to govern the body of
the sports and organize this event as well. This tournament is held after every
four years. This occasion is considered as one of the most viewed sport around
the world. In June 1975, the first world cup was hosted by England and
continued the hosting for first three years. After 1987, the hosting was shared
among the countries. There were fourteen members in ICC and they had to host at
least one match of the tournament.
The ICC Cricket World Cup of 2015 is 11th
ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. This time, it is hosted by two countries Australia and
New Zealand. These countries also jointly hosted back in 1992.The tournament
will start from 14th February and end at 29th March,
2015. 49 matches who will be played in
14 venues within Australia and 23 matches will be played in the seven cities of
New Zealand. The final will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. In 2011 ICC
Cricket World Cup, Australia and New Zealand had received their rights of
hosting. The 2015 World Cup Ambassador is Sachin Tendulkar decided by ICC and
this is his second time for being ambassador. The teams are divided in form of
pools and named Pool A and Pool B. Pool A comprises 7 teams which are England,
Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Scotland. Pool B
also comprises 7 teams which are South Africa, India, Pakistan, West Indies,
Zimbabwe, Ireland and UAE. The match will be played in 50 overs. The teams are
in the finalizing phase of selecting and confirming their squads.
According to the schedule, the first match will be
on 15th February, 2015 between India and Pakistan from Pool B. It is
reported that the tickets of India and Pakistan were sold in just 8 minutes.
In 2015, another world cup is going to held that is
FIFA Women’s World Cup and it is the 7th Women’s World Cup. The event will be hosted by Canada and it will
start from 6th June. The tournament is an international championship of women’s
football. In this tournament, the number of teams is 24 and the number of total
matches is 52. The following cities are selected as the venue of the match: Edmonton,
Moncton,Montreal,Ottawa,Vancouver and Winnipeg. There will be 23 players in
each team. Out of 23, 3 must be the goal keepers. The teams are also divided in
groups and named as POT1 (Seeds), Pot 2 (CAF, CONCACAF, OFC) Pot 3 (AFC, CONMEBOL) and Pot 4 (UEFA). The rules are classified in terms of points,
differences of goals, goals scored and drawing of lots. These all information
